A tale that dates back to 17th century when freedom was losing it's essence with the Portuguese rule over India . Las and order were under threat .The had become mere protocols that were more favorable to add to the   pockets of Portuguese than were practiced for the welfare of the citizens. Like always , Adversity births the leaders . In this story , the atrocities of Portuguese officials gave birth to the leader living in the heir of Kochi throne who gives by the name of Kerela Verma teamed up with the Samoothiri of  Calicut , sworn enemy of Kochi Kingdom, for the greater good.

What's a tale without a little twist to it? A series of events makes Kerela Varmna  fall in love with Unnimaya ,niece of Army chief Chempakessery Raja  ,during his exile disguised as Sanyasis to escape the Portuguese . A delicate tale of love blooms in the intense scenario which is blend of both deceit and loyalty as the army chief of Chempakassery had found his allegiance to Portuguese .

With the surge in the incidents of unfair behavior and atrocities , the counter attack was gaining momentum. The Kerela Verma multiples his might and strength by letting the Dutch to join them which allows them  a chance to topple the Portuguese. With forces doubled than before, a war for freedom commences. Who is gonna win ? Well , I wouldn't let out the spoiler . For it would be worth reading.

The story flows with equal proportions of every emotion which keeps the readers captivated . The way every event unfolds brand new twist make the story interesting.

What I like the most is the beauty of the language used. The writer keeps it simple which makes it easily understandable. Also , at certain places , Writer metaphorically describes the scenario adds a little more to the bliss of reading .
